You guys! It’s so close to summer I can’t even believe it! So much has happened since I last wrote a blog post, so lots of updates are in order. My parents visited for the first time (my dad’s, and my mom’s second) since I’ve been in New York for my college graduation, which was so much fun. 👨👩👧 We did so many quintessential New York things like a morning walk in Central Park, watching the sunset in DUMBO, and eating up a storm in Little Italy. Jay’s parents also came over for a fun little memorial’s day visit and we took full advantage of the cast iron grill we just purchased. Speaking of, I’ve been cooking like crazy – I think I’m getting much much much better, and I’m so excited to write a updated favorite recipes for you guys soon! Other upcoming posts on the blogging schedule: a much requested favorite hair products/routine, some summer looks, and maybe a new Q & A. I’d love to hear some suggestions if you have a post you’d like to see so please leave me a comment below! 🤗
Anyway, all catching up aside, I am so excited to talk about my new favorite color (riiiight behind pink 😅). I’ve always been too intimidated to wear yellow because of my yellow undertones (I literally thought I would glow yellow when I did!) but I’ve been crushing on yellow the last few weeks and have really gathered up some fun pieces for my closet. This tie-front dress has now become a closet staple; I may or may not have been wearing it on repeat 🤐 Just goes to show you that when you step out of your fashion comfort zone, you might really find some new gems!
Jay and I were walking around our neighborhood when I was wearing this dress one morning and saw this vintage buggy that was literally the same shade as my dress. I also just loved how the gorgeous car gave the whole set of photos a vintage feel. 🚕 I’ve always been obsessed with bugs – I was actually begging for a mint green one for my 16th birthday, haha. My parents got me a (more conventional) gray Volkswagen SUV instead, a car that I love now that I’m older. But these pictures were so much fun to take and look at for us because we were also testing out a new lens we just purchased. We used to only rely on our workhorse 50-mm portrait lens, but we sadly realized it really could only accomplish so much. We recently added a 24-mm pancake lens to our little camera family (it’s growing!) and I’ve been seriously loving it. To a girl who knows nothing about equipment, it just seems like a higher quality iPhone camera, which is so awesome and kind of exactly what we needed so yay! 📸
I’ve gathered up some of my favorite cute yellow dresses I’ve been seeing (a few of these are already in my closet, actually!) just in case some of you have been debating it and too scared to try – like me. Definitely let yourself branch out! Hey, you can always return what you hate, right? Haha 🤗
