Happy Thanksgiving! This is actually the second Thanksgiving that my boy and I have spent together, which makes me kind of giddy. šŸ˜ Last year, we did Thanksgiving at my apartment, and I went a little overboard with food (see here &Ā here), haha. Even though I love cooking and hosting, this holiday is about giving thanks and spending time with family, so it was amazing that I got to go home to New JerseyĀ with my boy this year. We had so much fun with his family, playing board games, eating cheese and drinking wine. We actually end up playing board games Iā€™ve never played as a kid every time we visit his parents, which is kind of cool. Iā€™m SUPER competitive, but Iā€™m pretty lucky to have him, who is MUCH uglier in competitions than I am. So by comparison I donā€™t seem so bad. (Iā€™m still pretty bad.) šŸ¤” I was actually letting loose so much that I got a liiiiittle wine drunk (oops!) and had a post-turkey nap in midst of watching Zoolander after dinner. We woke up to pie, ice cream and bringing 3 pounds of leftovers back to the city. Probably the most perfect Thanksgiving I couldā€™ve asked for, haha. šŸ™‚ We went out to take pictures in the morning at the Great Swamp National Wildlife Refuge. I absolutely adore his little town; itā€™s so quaint and proper, surrounded by grasslands and miles and miles of forest. The trees are definitely bare at this time of year, but the air still feels so crisp, which is amazing. Itā€™s a perfect escape from the city. His town is so beautiful and such a different idea of home than the one I grew up with, being a city girl and I’m so thankful Iā€™m able to share this with him. In the spirit of giving thanks, I obviously have to address all of you. At this time last year, I hadnā€™t even started a blog yet. Which, now that I think back, feels absolutely insane ā€” because why didn’t I?! Iā€™m so thankful for every With Waikei reader and for everyone who constantly leaves nice comments and supports me on Instagram. The Naked and Famous

Back in October, we were listening to The Naked and Famous‘ new album on Spotify and it notified us that they were having a concert near us. I’ve never been a huge fan of concerts (loud noises and crowded spaces, eek! šŸ˜°) but I knew that we would have SO much fun jammin’ out to our favorite tunes that we jam out to almost every night LIVE so we had to get these tickets. Fast forward a month and getting hyped up with infinite loops of our favorite songs from the band later, we finally went to the concert. It was THE BEST. The Naked and Famous were seriously just as amazing live as they were on tape; it was the most memorable experience seeing Alyssa sing her heart out on stage while all these lights and lasers shone around her. That girl rocked my socks off āš”ļø I only ended up taking a few pictures cause I was fully in the moment at the concert but I think they show how much fun the concert really was! Apparently they don’t do shows in the US a lot and it’s been almost 5 years since they’ve been in NYC but I will definitely be there for their next concert. Always Sunny in Brooklyn

Cut-out Collar Sweater: Romwe | Hi-Rise Jeggings: American Eagle | Sneakers: Converse High-Tops I think weā€™ve finally gotten past the wet season that autumn brings. Hooray! šŸ™‚ With how early the sun has been setting lately (4:30 PM?!), my boy and I have made it a mission to wake up early and spend some time outdoors together before we separate to start our days. What this means for us is a lot of coffee dates, and Williamsburg definitely has its repertoire of fun and new coffee shops around every corner. We found this adorable coffee shop (if itā€™s even considered a shop, more like a stand) as an extension to a barbershop next doors. It doesnā€™t even have a name on its windows, just a giant sign with COFFEE written across it, like a signal from a mothership calling to us, haha. šŸ‘½ My drink of choice is usually just cold brew; while we were waiting for coffee, we snapped some pictures on the stoop in front because it was just too adorable! Iā€™ve been loving these rare warm days that New York is bringing because itā€™s allowing me to wear some of my favorite sweaters one last time before winter takes over. Ice Cream Date

One thing I love the most about living in New York is the variety of ice cream we have here. Seriously. Ice cream is such a big must in my life, and thank the heavens my boy puts up with my excessive ice cream consumption. Actually, I think he quite enjoys it ā€˜cause he gets the excuse to indulge a little himself. šŸ¦ We live so close to my favorite ice cream shop, Oddfellows Ice Cream Co., and for the months of October to February, theyā€™re doing a Passport Program, where theyā€™re featuring flavors from different continents each month. With prizes. šŸŒĀ The competitor + ice cream eater in me obviously will not let this go, so Iā€™m constantly harassing him to go to the store with me. Little does he know Iā€™m going by myself as well (haha! šŸ˜ˆ). These last few fall days here in the city have been super warm, so Iā€™m cranking out the last of my short dresses and mock-necks (this dress has BOTH!) before I stash them away for the dreaded winter ahead. Iā€™ve also been loving this tiny necklace* from The Peach Box ā€” Iā€™m constantly searching for ā€œeveryday accessoriesā€ that are inconspicuous but adore enough to pair with each outfit, and I think this necklace takes the cake. Do you wear false eyelashes?

Nope! My eyelashes are from a combination of Ā Benefitā€™s They’re Real! Tinted LashĀ Primer, Maybellineā€™s Falsies Big-Eyes Mascara, and curling them a little too much šŸ™‚

How tall are you?

I am 5ā€™7ā€.

What foundation do you use?

I useĀ Benefitā€™s Hello Flawless! Powder FoundationĀ on top of a light layer ofĀ Stilaā€™s One-Step Correct Primer. I find that this combination really makes my foundation last all day (because what busy college student has time to reapply?!). You can shop all my makeup must-haves here.

Whatā€™s your workout routine?

Iā€™m very on-and-off about my workouts, but when I get into it, I love a combination of spinning (via Soul Cycle) and ballet barre (via Pure Barre). Of course, that can get expensive very quickly! So, when Iā€™m working out at home, I like to do 30 min uphill incline on the treadmill (just to get in some cardio and lift up the booty a little šŸ‘).

What stores do you shop at?

Iā€™m inclined to Urban Outfitters just because sizing is consistent (and I value consistency). But I shop local a lot, and living in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, I find adorable boutiques on almost a daily basis. You can shop my feed here, and find some things Iā€™m loving here!
