WELCOME TO THE FIRST OF 18,000 PARIS BLOG POSTS (may not be exaggerating)! I’m so excited to share this outfit and spot as my first blog post in Paris because I was just so in love with everything! Over the past few days, I’ve just been collecting photos and figuring out my next few blog posts, so please don’t mind me just cranking them out, haha.
When we’re on vacation, we tend to start our mornings earlier than usual. We are already such morning people (we love getting an early start to the day), but on vacation, especially when we only have so many days to explore a brand new city, we’re definitely motivated to get our day started even earlier. This was our first full day in Paris and I, crazy jet-lagged, woke up at 3 AM to start planning for our day ahead. I was obsessing over this spot with the coolest black and white pillars on Instagram and I was dying to see it in real life. So we set out early, our mission of the day — coffee, croissants and palace (you can see our priorities are in order). ☕️🥐🏛
If you have been following me for a while, you’d know I’m a liiittle pink obsessed, and this pink pleated dress was just me in a nutshell. Like, if I was a dress, I’d be this dress, ya know? And it definitely helped the cause that we are in beautiful Paris, pastel paradise in my eyes — if I were to wear pink every day at any city, it’d be this one. We walked our way to the Palais-Royal, crossing over the Lourve museum and a gorgeous garden. The road leading up to Palais-Royal was bordered by huge marble pillars, and we know we’ve made it.
Sidebar: this is our first time EVER to Europe, and I am such an easily-impressed person that every building, statue and even street was literally taking my breath away. I’m not exaggerating, I’m just easily excitable, haha.
We got to the Palais-Royal, and boy was it a WIND TUNNEL. Gal Meets Glam is one of my fashion inspirations and I remember seeing a Boomerang of hers where she jumped from one pillar to another and I really wanted to try it myself. I couldn’t do it. The pillars were really far away from each other and I have probably 0/100 athletic prowess, but it was fun to try, haha! 😂 We took pictures and I ran around the place jumping on pillars like Mario just to entertain myself (lots you don’t see behind the scenes) and we decided it was time to get lunch.

One thing about Paris that I am not in love with is how late everything opens. We left our Airbnb around 7 AM and no bakeries, coffee shops (things that in NYC, open at 5:30) were even close to opening. It was a ghost town, haha. So by the time we were done at the Palais-Royal, we were ready for food! We stopped at a nearby café to get coffee, baguettes, (my first) steak tartare and a croque-madame. A very Parisian first day indeed. 👩🏻🎨
This was definitely a ramble-y post but I feel like the rest will not be as ramble-y, haha. 😆 Just feel like I haven’t talked to you guys in a while, you know? This outfit is linked below, and most of my Instagram posts are shop-able at the “Shop” button up top, or here. Lots of y’all ask me where I get my dress, skirts, etc, and I want to make that as easily accessible to you guys as possible and include some similar options in there as well. Leave me a comment below if you’ve ever been to this spot or have seen pics and are dying to go like I was. Let’s chat. TTYL! Xo 😚
