I can’t believe it’s approaching the end of July! It feels like summer is going by so quickly and I still have so much on my summer to-do list. One thing we love to do when the weather is nice in the city is to go picnicking — what better way to spend a sunny afternoon than to sit under a giant, shady tree, nibble on meats and cheeses and play board games? (Nothing, that’s what! 🙈)
Petite Studio and I teamed up to bring you 4 cute and breezy looks perfect for a summer picnic day! I have been loving on this brand lately, if you haven’t heard of Petite Studio yet, they are a brand designed with petite girls in mind. Even though I’m 5’7, I have a really small frame (#asiangirlproblems) and have a hard time finding clothes that fit my body properly, so I absolutely just adore this brand! 🤗 Without further ado, here are my favorite looks from their summer collection!
Wearing Poppy Dress in Grey
Hellooo summer of gingham! The print and cut of this dress just screams summer to me and I am in love! 💕 If you’re 5’2 and under, you’ll love just where this dress cuts off on you — for me, I actually adore a little shorter piece that’s fitted but not “body-con.” But seriously, is there anything more classically summer than matching your picnic blanket? 😝
Wearing Dianella Top and Dianella Pants
This is Jay’s FAVORITE set ever, and he literally showers me with compliments whenever I rock this. I’ve been experimenting with jumpsuits lately (getting out of that all-dress comfort zone) and this is the perfect set to do that. I love that the top and bottoms are actually separate, so you can pair them with so many other things — but I honestly just really like pairing the two together for that chic jumpsuit feel. The pieces are also extremely lightweight which is just perfect for an NYC summer.
Wearing Erica Dress
This is my dress of the summer! The Erica dress has an vintage 40’s feel that’s sure to charm its way into your heart (and closet). Plus, it’s YELLOW and y’all know how much I’ve been crushing on yellow this season. 💛 I absolutely adore the cute white flower print also — perfect for a day under the sun! ☀️
Wearing Iris Top and Begonia Shorts
Last but not least is the most flattering peplum top ever! I am crazy about peplum because it gives such a girly vibe to the outfit. The Iris top cuts perfectly at the waist and flares out after, so it makes your waist look itty bitty. 👗

For the summer time, due to my darker complexion, I like to wear bright color t-shirts and button-down shirts that have flowers and trees on them, like the trees that are in Hawaii or the Caribbean, or the pink shirts (even though I’m a guy). As well as shorts of a similar design. Keep doing what you’re doing! 🙂
