I’m so excited to write this blog post today because I get so many questions from you guys about how I started as a creator and my process to creating colorful, fun images. Believe it or not, Jay and I spend a LOT of time talking out photo ideas, concepts and even color palettes.
While we draw a lot of inspiration from traveling and generally being out and about, when creating content daily is your job, it’s easy to feel burnt out. To prevent this from happening, we love to make mood boards to help inspire a new piece of content. Things I like to put on a mood board vary from location and color palettes, to textures and even patterns. Whatever it takes to note a certain theme or feeling you want to draw out from your piece of content.
In my experience, PicMonkey is one of the easiest ways to make your own mood board. I’ll start with my usual template, and imagine scenarios and locations that will fit an idea, an outfit, or even a feeling I want to convey. I love to select from the pastels section on the color board for some initial inspiration as well. Here are some that I’ve created with PicMonkey in the past!
Not only is PicMonkey amazing for creating mood boards, it also has so many templates for IG stories, IGTV, blog assets, and logos. I’m not the most photoshop savvy, so we stan a one-stop-shop for amateur creators!
For a limited time, PicMonkey is giving all of you $20 off an annual subscription to ALL things PicMonkey! Get inspired and get creating with this link!
Now for the secret mood board… Can ya guess where we’re going next?!
