“How can you wear heels around the city?!” I get this question all the time and I totally get it – wearing heels is a STRUGGLE, especially around a city where you’re on your feet all day! But I love wearing heels, I think they totally complete (or make!) an outfit and I love being able to strut the city streets with a few extra inches. Chunky kitten heel (1-2 in)
A low heel is seriously so classy and can be a subtle statement to your cute summery outfit. However, when I look for low/kitten heels, I find that most styles have a stiletto heel, which is so hard to walk with! Another problem I constantly encounter with kitten heels is that the soles get worn out very quickly and that causes blisters – ouch! I found this perfect pair of *chunky* kitten heels from DSW. These are the Kristen Pump by Easy Street in white (they also come in navy and black). I love these because they come with a cute ankle strap and padding in the soles, perfect to go to work and to the bar! 💼🍸
Ankle strap mid-heels (3 in)
Mid-heels are my go-to because I think it provides me with the perfect amount of extra height. I love mid-heels because they are the easiest to find and the most versatile. I also think this height of heel adheres to the natural arch of my feet the best, which makes them the most comfortable to wear all day! When I look for a mid-heel, I’m keeping in mind an ankle strap – it’s a subtle style and a perfect way to distribute weight in the shoes and help you stay comfy all day. You know by now that I LOVE a statement heel and I love these 🎶blue suede shoes🎶 to complete a simple outfit! These babies are the Dawson Sandal by Tahari from DSW! Although I love this baby blue, I am also a sucker for the dusty pink suede option!
Zip up back high heels (4+ in)
Ahh – the dreaded HIGH heel. I have to admit I tend to stray away from high high heels, but it’s a habit I’d like to break out of. I found these beautiful red Rebecca Minkoff Andree Sandal heels from DSW and I knew I had to have them. I was definitely worried at first of their comfort level, but they were surprisingly SO comfortable and I think I know why! When I look for high heels, I look for three things: ankle support, heel support, and arch support. SUPPORT is 🔑! This zip up back and caged style provides ankle support, the block heel provides heel support, and the gentle padding on the soles provides the perfect amount of arch support. I can happily say I walked around the city all day with these – up and down subway stairs, across cobblestone and my feet were feelin’ good!
